~ I’ve always wanted to be apart of a movement of God. When I write songs, I’m looking for what is on the heart of the Lord. I believe that God is, right this very moment, calling His beloved children out of idolatry and back to intimacy with Him. Particularly calling men to stand up, repent and renounce the counterfeit gods that have us enslaved though various addictions. (And it doesn’t have to be a chemical addiction to classify)
I asked God to give me a song that just put’s a simple exclamation point on what He desires. I wrote “As For Me and My House” because I came to a place where I was DONE bowing down to the idol of career, success, man’s approval, and even christian music. Ofcourse those were just to name a few. This song is my stake in the ground. “Im done building my own kingdom, no more seeking worthless idols”. I had a choice to make…and I made it. I will not serve these gods or any other gods. They will never fulfill me nor will they ever love me. I’ve known and know many men who are enslaved by idols such as money, status, pornography, pain killers, drugs, alcohol, etc.
My hope and desire is to spur on a movement of men who will stand up and say…“ENOUGH!!!! I surrender God. I repent of my life-long paterns of sin and idolatry. I am going to be the man, the husband, and the father YOU intended me to be. I’m walking out of this prison that I built with my own hands and like Joshua, I will declare… AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD” And we will not give our hearts to another!!

John, thanks for sharing your heart ... and even more for allowing God to break it open so His plan could flow out of you. I was amazed listening to your recent video blog discuss how you were 'done' and what that was all about, and am thrilled to hear this theme flow from you new song. I look forward to the entire album being released. I decare that I surrender my life-long patterns of sin and idolatry ... I am crossing the Jordan today = right now. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!
Awesome song and message!! I love the video as well. I thank God for you!
John, God is working in our midst! This music is definitely inspired by our Amazing, Loving God!!! As I hear your music and read what is behind it, I feel the spirit of God moving in our lives. Other sources around are sending the same message. Time for the men to make a declaration. Let us pray for a sincere movement to occur in our nation and in our world.
A dear friend sent this to me. It blessed my heart to listen and absorb those anointed words and music. Thank God for men who come forward to stand for the Lord and be a Godly head of the house and family. Your have my prayers and blessings, Wyn. (Australia)
Hey, John, We are missionaries serving for over 20 years on a difficult field and coming home on furlough. We would like to use your song, "Something Big" in our furlough presentation. We only can communicate by email and I don't see an email address on your website. How can we get permission to use this song? It says just what we want to say. We are happy to share more information in more private communication.
I came to your site to see if there was anything about you knowing how much "I Am Waiting" means to so many of us. I am part of marriage restoration sites for Christian men & women like me who are STANDERS (Standing on God's Covenant for marriage while our husbands or wives are prodigals. We stand while believing God's Promise of restoration & we pray for the salvation or rededication of our spouses.) I immediately listened to "As for Me & My House" & signed your Declaration. I KNOW God is restoring my marriage (Praise the Lord) & delivering my husband from a porn addiction & all the pain that led him to that place. Your video spoke volumes to me. I thank you so much for being such a willing vessel for God to minister through. I shared this with one of our FB pages & encouraged them to come to your site. Thank you so very much for your obedience to the Great I AM! God bless you & your family. STAND(ing) FIRM on God's Promises PJ

John, thank you for such an amazing song. Coincidentally (although I don't believe in coincidents), this song is my personal verse for this year. While Googling this verse, I came across your song and the clip, which I have shared to my friends as well as in my personal blog. God bless you and the whole family! Blessings all the way from Australia.
I found you when I watched the movie Fire proof. But I did not realize you had to much other music. I am so gone on your music it takes me to a higher place in the Lord and your testimony I Just heard on sid roth and it inspires me. Stay strong and be blessed. Tanya
Thank you John, again, for touching my heart through your music and bringing me back to where God wants me to be. Your music is truly kissed by Jesus himself; how your music can be so pertinent to my daily struggles both baffles and delights me at the same time - the same effect that the Holy Spirit can effect by "surpassing all understanding". Thank You!
John, my son, Ian, and I just saw you perform in Westfield, MA. Thank you so much for coming to MA to be a blessing to tornado victims. My whole family enjoys and relates to your music. My seven-year-old who came with me tonight memorizes all of your songs and was so blessed to meet you and get a picture with you tonight. I just want you to know you are being used to reach not only adults, but children as well. Your music is extremely relevant and powerful and needed in our society. I remember the first time I heard your music and I thought--finally! There are many wonderful artists out there, but I can tell you wait on the Holy Spirit for a leading and that is how you write--and the songs are laden with scripture, rich in meaning. Thanks again, for allowing yourself to be used in this way. God bless Josiah Emmanuel and I'm sorry for the loss of your mom. She is in good company with my dad and one of my little babies. While I'm waiting, I will serve Him . . .
Just wanted you to know that my husband and I were ministered to greatly during your singing last Saturday night in Brandon, Iowa. So many times God uses our pain and our brokenness to reach others in a greater way. I feel that is where you are right now. Please be assured that what you have been through and are going through is not in vain. I give and give in ministry and your concert gave back into me in a way that I can't even explain. I woke up Sunday morning feeling refreshed and renewed and felt a new anointing on me as I ministered in both Sunday services. Thank you for being yielded to God so that He can flow through you to others. Keep on keeping on--it is worth it!
